After experiencing a strong turnout of more than 16, 600 visitors
from 74 countries, attendees and exhibitors of ISSA/INTERCLEAN
North America 2016 have agreed the show lived up to its theme of
‘unleashing the industry’s untamed potential’.
Co-produced by worldwide cleaning industry association ISSA and
its trade show partner RAI Amsterdam, ISSA/INTERCLEAN 2016
took place in Chicago from 25 to 28 October 2016.
Compared to the ISSA/INTERCLEAN show in 2015, there was a
strong increase in attendance from both buyers and exhibitors.
End user turnout was strong as well; of the total buyers at the
show, 36 per cent were building service contractors and in-house
service providers. Of this year’s 740 exhibitors, 132 were new and
20 per cent hailed from outside the United States, drawing from
Four industry groups held annual conventions in conjunction
with ISSA/INTERCLEAN: the Association of Residential Cleaning
Services International (ARCSI), Building Service Contractors
Association International (BSCAI), Cleaning Trade Equipment
Association (CETA) and IEHA.
Many supporting associations throughout Europe, Africa and Asia-
Pacific also participated in this year’s show, and there was a strong
showing from top janitorial buying groups and their key members.
The draw to this show is how big and diverse it is,” said exhibitor
Jake Mynatt, Southeastern regional sales manager, Essential
Industries. “Being able to network and bring this many people
together is huge for us.”
Buyers also cited their desire to meet with exhibitors and find
innovative products and ideas as a top reason for attending the
Another big draw for attendees was the education available
during the event. This year’s revised format included more than
60 education seminars and hands-on training workshops, many of
which included certifications.
Advertisements for Laurinex disinfectant, which we [Biofilm
Solutions Pty Ltd] published in this magazine, and on the
websites www.laurinex.com.au and www.facebook.com.
should not have been published.
In the advertisements we unlawfully made claims that
Laurinex was superior to other disinfectant cleaner, than other
disinfectant cleaners were ineffective against biofilm, and
that Laurinex was effective as a virucide sporicide, fungicide
and pesticide We also implied that Laurinex was endorsed by
government agencies including the FDA and TGA.
A complaint about the advertisement was recently
upheld by the complaints Resolution Panel. We provided
no evidence sufficient to support the claims we made and
the panel found that the claims were unlawful, misleading
and unverified and breached the Therapeutic Goods
The Panel therefore requested that Biofilm Solutions Pty
Ltd publish this retraction.
