Duplex Cleaning Machines has launched its latest
steam cleaning machine and floor scrubber into the
The company’s director Murray McDonald says that the
upgraded models have the latest technology and design
from Italy, and represent the next generation of steam
cleaning and floor scrubbing technology.
“Nowadays, products and technology have a focus on
improving user experience. This is no different when it
comes to cleaning equipment,” pointed out Mr Murray.
“Just like smartphones, computers and cars, it’s
all about upgrading the product to ensure a better
The Jetsteam Maxi Onox and Duplex 280 battery are
the latest Duplex models to be launched.
“Some of the new Jetsteam’s improved features include a robust, stainless steel build,
improved digital control panel and waterproof LED hose control system,” said Mr Murray.
“Being able to easily identify steam temperature via the new digital control panel and
having a hose that illuminates the control system allows the user to simply turn it on and
go. It’s all about automation and simplicity.
“The Duplex 280 battery is an upgrade of our original Duplex 280 floor scrubber. It
still has all its unique features, such as being able to wash, scrub and dry all floors in a
single pass but it’s slightly more compact and is now battery operated.”
Mr Murray added that Duplex views these new machines as the beginning of the many
new upgrades to the Duplex range over the next two years.
The introduction of Environmental
Product Declarations (EPDs) looks set to
differentiate products and provide clarity
in procurement. Tork Professional Hygiene
products have recently become the first
hygiene products with EPDs in Australasia.
A published EPD is an independently
verified and registered document
that communicates transparent and
comparable information about the
environmental impact of a product
through its entire life cycle. Data
is collected using internationally
recognised life cycle assessment
methodology and ISO 14025 principles
and procedures. It’s somewhat like a
nutritional chart for a product.
“EPDs for tissue products are unique
in the Australasian market, and unlike
our competitors, we have quantified our
environmental impacts and disclosed
this information publicly,” said Sid Takla,
executive general manager B2B, Asaleo
Care. “EDPs will also allow us to identify
‘hot spots’ within our value chain - areas

Through the life cycle assessment,
Tork conventional toilet paper has been
identified as having been produced with
70 per cent renewable energy. This is a
result of the direct use of geothermal
steam and also of New Zealand’s high
renewable energy within the grid.
Coupled with the sourcing of raw
materials from 100 percent responsibly
managed forests, the data in the EPD
paints an impressive picture for Tork.
At the end of the day, an EPD
gives a decision maker in green
procurement an immediate, reliable and
quantitative way to evaluate a product.

provides is unprecedented and will

The design and development team at Makinex have made several changes to the
company’s dual pressure washer (DPW-4000 & 2500) after listening to customer
feedback on how the product could be improved.
“Our core aim with all of our products is to continuously make them better for our
end-users,” explained the company. “Even though the dual pressure washer is one of our
best sellers, we are always seeking to achieve product perfection and innovation.”
The Makinex dual pressure washer (DPW-4000 & 2500) is designed to make high
pressure cleaning much quicker by combining the functionality, versatility and efficiency
of a rotary cleaner and wand into one machine.
The first change to the washer is the
modified hose reel placement. The hose reel
has been moved to the side of the machine
to keep the hose out of the operator’s way
when using the machine. It is also now much
easier to wind the hose up.
A new quick connect nozzle fitting allows
operators to use any of the interchangeable
nozzles. Operators can now use 15, 25 and
40 degree nozzle tips.
The quick connect spray gun hose fitting
was previously a screw on connector; now
this is an easier and quicker fitting device.
The washer’s wheels have also been updated
to nylon hub wheels, which have a longer
