Reducing client water usage through innovative
cleaning practices has led to impressive growth
for the Western Australian branch of Cleaning
Edge Solutions Pty Ltd. In the specialised

abattoir cleaning, a combination of industry
experience and thinking outside the box has
gained the WA branch three signifcant clients
in less than a year.
Director Clayburn Figredo has more
than 15 years of experience in the cleaning
industry and established the business in
Victoria seven years ago. Now, Cleaning
Edge Solutions has about 100 hygiene
operators headed by national operations
manager, Tom Pern, who himself has
more than 15 years’ experience in the meat
cleaning industry across Australia.
Cleaning Edge currently has contacts in
NSW, WA and Victoria and is expanding
operations around the country. The group
provides cleaning services for gyms, offces,
industrial buildings, high rise buildings,
medical centres, meat shops, boning rooms,
abattoirs and farms.
WA state operations manager, Yash
Beeharry, who has more than 10 years of
experience in both industrial and commercial
cleaning, joined the group to grow the WA
operations. Cleaning Edge strives to be an
ecofriendly company and maintain its triple
The company uses biodegradable
chemicals as much as possible that are
certifed safe for the environment to protect
waterways from harmful substances. It also
boasts one of the biggest contracts in WA
with Baiada Poultry and since commencing,
Cleaning Edge has successfully reduced
water consumption and alkaline chemical use
at the client’s Osborne Park site.
The team achieved this by using custom-
made high-pressure nozzles that reduce
water use and increase cleaning pressure as
well as carrying out monthly titrations to
reduce alkaline chemical use. According to
Beeharry, cleaning reports are sent to the
client in order to meet auditors’ requirements
and food preparation standards.
Cleaning Edge works collaboratively
with cleaning product supplier, Integra
Water, to achieve these standards. Integra
provides the specialised cleaning nozzles
and cleaning goods as well as on-site
induction, safety and handling training for
all the products supplied.
A total of 14 staff, working various shifts
between 12 noon and 6 am, manage the
cleaning of the Baiada factory. This includes
abattoir and boning room cleaning as well as
chicken preparation areas. Cleaning Edge staff
are required to maintain client confdentiality.
Each staff member has a current police
clearance and has undergone training in the
company service and cleaning procedures.
At the Baiada site, staff wear waterproof

Beeharry proudly explained how he assisted
with the engineering of customised equipment
to assist with the cleaning process of 16
chicken sheds for another WA client.
“Cleaning Edge invested a signifcant
amount of money to custom design and
manufacture specialised cleaning equipment,”
he shared. “The truck-mounted equipment
allows our hygiene operators to clean the
sheds and equipment more effectively while
saving the client water and therefore money.
“High pressure cleaning nozzles at different
heights mean equipment like drinkers,
feeders and purge lines are adequately
cleaned,” added Beeharry. “Operators
carefully drive the vehicle through the sheds
and monitor the cleaning as they go.”
The success of Cleaning Edge’s high
pressure cleaning methods and innovative
vehicle-mounted design will surely advance
the company’s aim to be a market leader
in Australia. In fact, discussions are already
underway with an overseas business that may
see the company expand internationally in
the near future.
